📌 This article answers the following questions:
- Which alternative payment methods can I enable with Stripe on elloha (Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.)?
- How do I enable and set up alternative payment methods in my Stripe account?
- Do these payment methods appear automatically on my booking engine?
- Are there any additional fees for alternative payment methods via Stripe?
Why is this essential for your business?
For an accommodation owner, attracting international guests is crucial. Some travellers, particularly in Northern Europe, prefer to use instant bank transfer systems rather than traditional credit cards
Follow the step-by-step guide
Step 1: Access your payment methods
To manage your accommodation’s payment options, follow these steps:
In the main menu, click on Settings.
Select the My Money tab.
Click on the Stripe section.
Step 2: Enable your alternative payment methods
This section allows you to manage the payment methods you wish to make available to your customers when they make a booking.
Bancontact: instant payment for your Belgian customers.
iDeal: instant payment for your Dutch customers.
Ensure that your payment methods match your customers’ preferences to make it easier for them to complete their bookings.
To take things a step further, you can also enable Klarna to offer deferred payment to your customers.
Step 3: Customise your payment collection method
Once your alternative payment methods have been enabled, you’ll need to adjust your pricing settings:
Go to your rates plans.
Check and amend the payment settings for each offer.
To secure your bookings and ensure your customers actually pay, we recommend setting up full payment at the time of booking.
Please note
You must activate your Stripe account before setting up alternative payment methods; see our dedicated article.
To simplify your payment processing, we recommend applying the ‘Full payment at booking’ option to your pricing plans.
