📌 This article answers the following questions:
- How do you block dates to prevent bookings on elloha?
- How do I activate ‘Stop Sales’ on Booking, Airbnb and other OTAs?
- What’s the difference between ‘Stop Sales’ and blocking availability?
- How do I reopen my availability after a ‘Stop Sale’?
Why is this important?
Zero risk of overbooking: By blocking your dates, you prevent any automatic bookings on your website and on booking platforms.
Complete peace of mind: You have precise control over when your property is open to guests.
Instant synchronisation: A single action on elloha is all it takes to update all your booking channels (Booking.com, Airbnb, etc.).
Follow the step-by-step guide
Step 1: Access your calendar
To manage when your accommodation is closed for bookings:
In the left-hand side menu, click on Schedule.
Select the Availability & Prices tab.
This screen allows you to quickly manage when your property is available or unavailable for booking on one or more dates at the same time.
To find out how to make your property available on your calendar, see our dedicated article.
Step 2: Access the ‘Stop sales’ function
From your calendar, click on the ‘Actions’ button at the top right of the screen.
Select ‘Stop sales’ to open the settings panel on the right.
Step 3: Activate the ‘Stop sales’ function
Select the relevant service.
Toggle the ‘Stop sales’ switch to the ‘On’ position.
💡 Tip: The ‘Stop sales’ feature allows you to quickly close your accommodation to bookings whilst retaining your rate and stay settings.
Step 4: Select the dates to block
In the ‘Which day(s)?’ field, specify the period during which you wish to apply a sales stop to your calendar:
Today or Tomorrow
This week or This month
The next 3 months
Season
Custom dates for more precise control
💡 Tip: The ‘Custom dates’ option allows you to manually select a specific period during which your accommodation will be closed to bookings.
Step 5: Apply the change
Click the Apply button to update your calendar:
The block is applied immediately. This action allows you to quickly close bookings in the following cases:
Unforeseen circumstances or maintenance;
Temporary private hire of your accommodation.
⚠️ Please note: Before activating a ‘Stop Sale’, check that there are no bookings already awaiting confirmation for these dates to avoid any confusion with your guests.
Step 6: View the “Sales Block” on your calendar
Once applied, the ‘Stop Sales’ setting is immediately visible on your calendar for the relevant dates:
A ‘Sales Halt’ indicator appears in the daily occupancy rate box.
The availability status changes to ‘Stop’.
Bookings for your accommodation are automatically blocked for the selected periods.
Key points
Automation at your service: As soon as you activate a ‘Stop Sale’, the information is sent in real time to all platforms (OTAs) via your Channel Manager.
Immediate visibility: Your availability is blocked everywhere simultaneously, protecting you from any booking errors.
Flexibility: You can reopen your dates at any time by deactivating the sales hold for the same period.
What else you need to know
The ‘Stop Sale’ feature blocks sales but does not remove stock.
When you deactivate the sales hold, your original availability automatically reappears.
The ‘Stop Sale’ feature allows you to quickly manage your schedule in the event of unforeseen circumstances, without having to manually adjust your availability on a day-to-day basis. With just a few clicks, you can block sales for the desired period and thus retain full control over your calendar.
